Well penned, Saalik.

It's like doing residencies and fellowships. You're doing/did a nomadic residency haha, fun oxymoron there.

Btw, your last name, one of steal, or is it iron? I'm assuming you're Indian, and if you are, where in India are you from? I'm from Gujarat.

Thanks Walyullah! And yeah you're so right, it was a nomadic residency hahaha.

You caught me, I'm Gujarati too! Part of the reason I subscribed to your work -- I imagine we have some cultural commonalities. Lokhandwala is likely more related to steel, my Dada's Dad ran a steel working company. But it's a little more fun to say I'm an "Iron Man," hah

Iron Man! Why didn't I think of that haha. And I knew it! My gujji sense was tingling lol.

While I don't have a last name with a "-wala," my brother made my ig handle photowalala with an extra syllable. I don't do much photography these days, but I found a cool spider in my basement today so I took some photos of it. Felt a little bad after for keeping it captive for half an hour.

Hahaha sounds like you were in photoshootwala mode. Hope the spider was a good model

Beautifully articulated, Saalik. I like the juxtaposition of the two rules, acting as a pressure valve on each other.

I'm going to share this particular phrase with others:

"There is a different way to live, for now". The power of that addendum clause.

Love the "pressure valve" description -- it feels so true. Honored that it resonates!
